My name is Bea Szeker.I was born in 1975 in Budapest, Hungary.
From my early childhood I always liked to draw and paint. I won several painting competitions in the primary and secondary school. My teachers supported me to learn more techniques in graphics, oil painting. I followed workshops, jewellery, textile-painting, ceramic
In 1990 I started my studies as a porcelain-painter in an Art Academy. Later I’ve worked in the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest.
I liked the traditional folk-motifs,shapes-what I mostly had to use there in the Museum-but I was searching for something new,more refined.
Than in 1999 I got in touch with glass at Varga Art Crystal Studio where I’ve learnt the methods of crystal-engraving .In between I also gave workshops for children in graphics.
From 2005 I was working as a free-lancer. I engraved several Awards(horse-race championship awards,golf championship awards…), Portreits,Stemware sets, Jewels
Generally in every kind of art I like humour,liveliness,unique ways of expressions.
What I find important in glass-engraving is the refinement of details. I strive for it in my works. In my opinion this and the perfect proportions give the essence and elegance of engraved crystal.
